Summer Camps in July

Weekly sessions

JGEC Kindergarten Readiness Camp is a fun and engaging program designed to help young children build the social, emotional, and academic skills needed for a smooth transition into kindergarten. Through hands-on activities, early literacy and math lessons, creative play, and social interaction, students will develop confidence, independence, and a love for learning. With a mix of structured learning and play, students will receive exposure to the school environment ensuring that they are excited and prepared for their first school experience!

Students who attend multiple weeks will be able to build on what they've learned and as they've mastered kindergarten readiness will be able to join the youngest of the older campers for some sessions and activities taking their preparation to the next level!

June 30 - July 3, 2025

We will spend time this week celebrating America, learning some American history, and diving into the world of being a YouTube creator. The two themes will blend well as students will be able to plan and film patriotic crafts and roleplaying great historic moments.  We will also touch on internet safety and other tangential topics. Join us to celebrate America while experiencing the world of creating YouTube videos in a safe and supportive environment. 

July 7 - 11, 2025

We've hired a young professional coder to help develop and teach the curriculum for our inceptive Minecraft coding camp.  In addition to Minecraft coding, we will have simpler coding programs for the younger students and more complex for the most advanced.  

Beyond coding, students will spend some time participating in science experiments ranging from engineering to chemistry to weather.  Interactive science is always a hit with our students!

July 14 -18, 2025

We are excited to employ the same coder from last week to help with this week's camp programming!  The coding languages are different, but the programming concepts of variables, loops, conditions, and functions remain; students attending both weeks will be able to benefit from what they learned in the week prior and further and solidify their knowledge.  We will have simpler coding programs available for our younger students and more complex available for older students.  

We'll pair this week with some LEGO building challenges appropriately scaled by age range.  

July 21 - 25, 2025

This is an exciting and enriching program designed to challenge young minds while keeping learning fun! Students will explore a variety of engaging subjects, including Amazing Animals, where they’ll discover fascinating facts about wildlife and ecosystems; Language Exploration, introducing Spanish, French, German, and sign language through fun games and activities; and Logic & Creative Thinking, where puzzles, brain teasers, and problem-solving challenges sharpen their reasoning skills. In addition to academic enrichment, the camp includes sports and fitness sessions to promote teamwork, movement, and a healthy lifestyle. With a perfect mix of hands-on learning, creativity, and active play, this camp helps young scholars grow intellectually, socially, and physically!
